We are sorry to report that Frances Akehurst one of our long standing members has passed away. She had suffered ill health in recent years and was in a nursing home. Frances was a valiant member of the executive committee until last year. She always remembered the past activities of the Society and could recall many members who had passed away. Although her sight and hearing was going she wanted to be involved in her beloved society. We will miss her. RIP Frances.

Following the recent break-in and the stealing of the weeks' takings from the safe we have been overwhelmed by the messages of support and donations that have come in.This was covered in the Argus and has resulted in more offers of support and requests for transport helping to keep us going. There is more nice people than there are bad as shown to us by this.
